Erik and I attended Meghan and Justin's wedding at Country Mill in Charlotte.  It was a beautiful day for an outside wedding.  The wedding and reception had a country feel to it, which was really neat to see.

This was where guests walked down to the wedding ceremony. The aisle was lined with their family's wedding pictures. Meghan is at the end getting pictures taken.

Owen and I met Lilah and Jesse at Lockwood for a play date. Both Owen and Lilah were up and down the jungle gym a million times.  They played for just over an hour before we headed home for a nap.  We went down to my parents for a bonfire where we roasted hot dogs and set off a few lanterns.

Owen and I met Noah and Kiki Mama at Lockwood Wednesday morning for a play date.  The boys ran around and spent more time wrestling in the grass than on the jungle gym.  They played for almost two hours before we headed home for lunch and a nap.

Touch a Truck

On Saturday morning we went to Union Street to the Touch a Truck event.  Owen loved the fire truck, ambulance, race car, and the helicopter.  He was a little scared of the police officers and refused to get up onto the cop's boat.

Up North: Oswald's Bear Ranch & Lake Michigan

On Wednesday morning we headed just outside of Newberry to visit Oswald's Bear Ranch.  We bought some fruit loops to feed the 3 cubs their breakfast.  We then started our journey around the ranch to find bears.  While a top one of the platforms Owen started yelling at the bears like Grandpa Ricker taught him to call in the cows.  "GumBoss" Sure enough the bears started to make a slow journey toward us.  We got them moving a bit quicker once we started throwing them some apples.   We headed home after the Bear Ranch stopping along Hwy 2 to play in Lake Michigan.  Owen made it into 3 of the 5 great lakes on this vacation!  We had a wonderful vacation with my parents.  Owen was so angry when we pulled into our driveway.  He had a fit yelling "NO, more vacation!"
